The Commission will (I don't think it has done so yet) produce guidance on the precise scope of a "common plan". For example, does it include branding and advertisement? Answer, attack the other side so that your own 'weakness' can be disguised. Better Together's tactics are so blatant as to be laughable.

The legal position may well be clear and I do agree that there may be some fuzzy edges about where one Yes campaign stops and another starts, but that's what happens when there is a genuine mass campaign. We are so used to politics being tightly defined that its difficult to know how to cope when it breaks out of the established narrow conventions.

A few questions about some campaigns' finances seem to me to be a small price to pay for the real explosion of community level campaigning that we are seeing. And all the Better Together lot can do is try to throw out a smokescreen to cover their own embarrassment.Freoboyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00834756923654431447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1638916042737526171.post-6881483646384052162014-04-30T15:29:35.027+01:002014-04-30T15:29:35.027+01:00The campaigns need to be exclusive but the activis...The campaigns need to be exclusive but the activists may be interchangeable, presumably? And as you say, the Commission appears to have no powers to block anyone, lest they do not satisfy basic criteria.

But it is imperative that each of the pro independence movements maintain financial exclusivity AND planning exclusivity during the regulated period otherwise they will quickly fall victim of reasonable accusations of collusion by Better Together.

Nevertheless, that BT is moaning at all, is an indication of their recognition of their own weakening lead.Graham Harris Grahamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12929592259338606880noreply@blogger.com
